Global Leadership Institute (“GLI,” “we,” “us”) respects your privacy and is committed to protecting the personal data of every learner, client and visitor who interacts with leadership.co.ke and our learning management system (LMS). This Privacy Policy explains what we collect, how we use it, and the rights you have over your data.
Global Leadership Institute is a pan-African professional certification and training body offering over 1,990 accredited certifications to professionals across more than 40 countries, with offices in Nairobi (Kenya), Kigali (Rwanda) and Delaware (USA). GLI is the data controller responsible for your personal data.

Device type, browser, IP address, pages visited and course progress, collected through cookies and similar technologies.
Your enrolment status, lesson and module progress, examination attempts and scores, and certificate records.
We process your data to create and manage your account and enrolment; deliver course content and track progress; administer examinations and issue certificates; verify certificates on request; process payments; respond to enquiries; send service messages; improve our services; and comply with legal, accreditation and record-keeping obligations.
We rely on the performance of a contract with you, your consent (for marketing, which you may withdraw anytime), our legitimate interests (improving and securing our services), and compliance with legal obligations.
We use essential cookies to operate the site and LMS (to keep you signed in and remember your progress) and analytics cookies to understand usage. You can control cookies through your browser; disabling essential cookies may affect LMS functionality.
We do not sell your personal data. We share it only with payment processors (Paystack, M-Pesa and banking partners) to complete transactions; trusted service providers under confidentiality obligations; employers or third parties only when they verify a certificate you have chosen to make verifiable; and authorities where required by law. Certificate verification discloses only the holder’s name, certification title, certificate ID and status.
As a pan-African institution, your data may be processed in Kenya, Rwanda, the United States or other countries. Where data crosses borders, we take appropriate steps to keep it protected in line with this policy and applicable law.
We retain your account and learning records for as long as you hold an active relationship with us, and thereafter as needed to keep issued certificates verifiable, meet accreditation standards, and comply with legal obligations. Certificate records are retained long-term so credentials remain verifiable.
We apply appropriate technical and organisational measures including encrypted password storage, administrative access controls, secure session handling, and need-to-know access to personal data. No internet transmission is completely secure, but we work continuously to safeguard your information.
Subject to applicable law, you may access, correct, or request deletion of your data (except records we must retain to keep certificates verifiable or meet legal obligations); object to or restrict certain processing; withdraw marketing consent; and request data portability. To exercise these rights, contact privacy@leadership.co.ke.
Our services are intended for professionals and adult learners. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a minor has provided us data, contact us so we can address it.
We may update this policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date above reflects the latest revision; material changes will be communicated through our website or by email where appropriate.
